What We DoFoPA is a volunteer parent group dedicated to supporting the school’s rich diversity of performing arts activities. Our goal is to ensure that dance, drama, music, and stagecraft flourish and remain a vital part of the education that BHS offers its students.
FoPA is an enthusiastic part of PTO’s mission to foster the home-school connection for BHS families. FoPA has many types of collaborative volunteer opportunities for parents where they can meet each other and work directly with faculty to support the BHS community. The BHS PTO does not provide funds directly to the FoPA organization, but provides grant opportunities for BHS Performing Arts faculty as part of the PTO's robust annual grant program. FoPA activities include:
FoPA's past grants funded master classes with an Alvin Ailey dancer; guest artists to teach and inspire students in our Musica y Cultura program; a new lighting board for Roberts/Dubbs Auditorium; and upgraded recording equipment for concerts. |
